Anyone have a tip on what I should put in my garrison?

Depends on what country you are playing, para-military will differ depending on your country. If they are under half the cost of reg infantry I would use 50% para-military 40% infantry and always add about 10% rocked infantry. Rocket infantry also defend against air attacks. If you are playing a western nation I wouldn’t buy any para-military they will be too expensive. Regular infantry are better.

Do sams protect all your territory or only the land that they are bought on?

SAMs only protect the land that they are bought on. They attack only ICBMs.

How do I get rid of the zombies

Garrisons will kill the zombie population. The zombie population spreads and consumes the human population, so you need to capture the zombie land. you can see when you examine the region and see what the zombie population is, can be 300k-900k zombies, when you capture then land you then need to garrison it with about 80k-150k para-military troops. I cannot remember it exactly number but the garrison army will kill about 2-3 times their number in zombies. Zombies spread 100% per turn, to a max of 250k per turn. As soon as your garrison dies, the zombies take over the land and start spawning armies. Don’t let that happen.

How do you get zombies?

Zombies(afflicted) are the result of germ experimentation. Once a nation has reached level 5 and their technology/development points > 30,000 you will have a new building available to you, it’s the Omega Facility. It costs you 10,000 development points to build, so you won’t be able to build another until you reach the +30,000 level again. When you have build the Omega Facility 30% of your nukes will deliver the germ into the city or town they hit and start the spread of the germ. Once the population is infected they turn into zombies and start killing the garrison and converting the population. Once all the garrison dies, the zombies take the land and start spawning armies to attack and spread to adjoining lands. Zombies attack everyone. The AI player can and will build the Omega Facility, so watch for this to happen and destroy the building.
