Frequently asked questions

Is there any way of buying regulars without having to use the capital ?

Yes and No, You are given a regular army from your Mother country every so often (about 20-25 turns). Its strength will depend on your need, You may get more ships or more regulars. They appear at the mother country awaiting for you to move them. But the Crown will expect you to pay for them. And will create a repayment plan, that is where you get your debt and you need to pay it off. You can also buy them using crowns via In-app-purchase.

How do I get more colonists?

Answer: To get more colonists you can try the following,  (1) Buy colonists from Europe. (2) Conquer and destroy other towns, doing this will add about 30% of the conquered people to your colonist total. (3) Produce more food, then surplus food produces colonists. Note, destroying villages will create hostility. Destroying a town populated by your own race will not cause any hostility and all that population will be added to your colonists.

How do I move troops from Europe to the Americas?

Answer: To move troops from Europe to America you only need ships standing offshore the land you want the army to land onto. Tap on the army in Europe, then tap ‘move’, then tap on the land you wish your army to land. Then your army will move directly from Europe onto the land in America. So, if you have a colony in Florida and you have some ships stationed next to the Florida sea space, you can then just grab your army(you need to create an army in Europe) and move that army from Europe to any highlighted land space on the continent. Note: the army will have lowered morale when landing. You can also move from any land with a shoreline and move to any other land with a shoreline and fleet standing ready to aid the landing.

How do I move troops from my land?

To move troops from any land space you need to first create an army from the build page and add a leader, then you can add troops from that land. Once you have an army then that army can move to any adjacent land and beyond. Note: armies can also merge with other armies in the same location.

Why did my army disappear?

If you are moving an army through another nations land, and then that nation changes from friendly to hostile then your army will be relocated onto another land location that you own. Sometimes this happens and you wonder where did my army go? or why is that army doing here? It is just that your army had to be evicted from that land because your relationship now has changed with one of your ex-friendly nations.

Why did I lose my cannons?

You can lose your cannons if your army has to retreat from battle and you were the defender. Ship/land bombardments will also cause cannons to be lost.

How Does the European Loan work?

Loans from Europe are capped to a maximum of $3,000. You will not receive any re-enforcements if you still have money owing. The maximum interest on your loan will not exceed $50/turn. When you have an outstanding loan, a maximum of 25% of your nations available funds will use to pay off the loan. To stop nations from going into bankruptcy the mother country will not expect payment if your available funds are below $200.

Why did I lose this battle? I had many times more men than the defender had!.

If you attack a strong position when your army's morale is too low then your army will retreat even with odds of 10:1 in your favour! Just check before you assault a position or after you have moved 2 or 3 land areas, check that your morale is still ok before attacking. Another situation that can lower your morale is when you merge 2 armies together, or you add tired troops into a fresh army, then the result will be a tired army. Also, some other things you should consider before attacking are, attacking across a river, amphibious assaults, attacking fortified structures, weak leaders vs strong leaders, low morale, regulars vs Indians. Note, low morale is considered under 50%, an army will break and run if morale gets to 35% or below.

I Lost my ships at sea, why?

You can also lose ships when bombarding land structures and armies. This is because some ships can run aground or hit rocks.
